Instant Fiction – Berlin
Facilitated by Ursula Bauer

August 16 – November 25, 2024 / ongoing
Berlin

Instant Fiction is an artistic-literary proposal in which observation and writing come together to create texts and open up new ways of experiencing the city. It is a collective writing experiment where individual participants — previously unknown to one another — collaborate to produce a book and an exhibition to be held in November 2024.

The project is rooted in a practice of attentiveness: an observation exercise that invites each participant to not only observe the urban surroundings but also to reflect on how others observe. This recursive attention — the observing self observing others, and in doing so, also observing itself — seeks to create a deeper understanding of difference. Not through confrontation, but through a patient and shared practice of noticing, recording, translating, and transforming.

With no costs or financial compensation involved, the project unfolds as a space for generosity, process, and collective thinking.
